John Oliver discusses how the WWE takes care of its wrestlers — and how it doesn’t.

Die-hard fans of the WWE will be well aware of the complaints that some of the performers have with regards to the way the company is run.

Most notably, former WWE Champion CM Punk spoke at length in a podcast about how the way he was treated, and how it ultimately led to his exit from the company.

And on the most recent episode of John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight, he took a very close look at some of the more serious issues that are now synonymous with the world of wrestling.

He mentions that the statistics point toward the fact that wrestlers tend to die at a younger age than the majority of other professions, and how they’re treated like “circus animals” by boss Vince McMahon.

He then talked about how the fans are the key to any potential improvement within the company, as they are those responsible for making positive change in the past.
