WATCH: Mum Sharyn Ward blows judges away on Ireland’s Got Talent

Alan Loughnane

Ireland's Got Talent

Some performance.

Ireland’s Got Talent returned to our screens on Saturday night on Virgin Media One and one moment in particular stood out above them all.

We’re talking about the performance of Sharyn Ward, who was encouraged to come onto the show by presenter Lucy Kennedy when she chanced across her while recording another series for Virgin Media.

Sharyn describes herself as a proud Irish Traveller and lives in Dublin with her husband James Ward where they have two children; Bonnie and Jack.

She appeared on the show with lots of support including her husband, her children and actor John Connors who is a neighbour.

She originally sang ‘Stand By Me’ by Ben E. King but after singing, Louis Walsh asked her to sing a different song, she chose Finbarr Furey’s ‘When You Were Sweet Sixteen’.

Have a look at her performance below…

She received a unanimous ‘Yes’ from the judges.
