CCTV cameras captured the moment when the alleged armed robber Derrick Estell broke free from prison earlier this week. ‘Like a bat out of hell’ comes to mind…
A massive manhunt is now underway in Hot Springs, Arkansas, after an alleged armed robber by the name of Derrick Estell (pictured above) managed to crawl out a small opening and sneak past the guards on watch at the county jail. You can see his brazen escape in the video below.
According to Sky News, Estell used an accomplice to distract the guards before diving head first through a small opening above the guard’s counter. Estell then ran through the prison’s car park and down an alleyway where he hopped into a waiting getaway car.
The car was found abandoned a few minutes later with no sign of Estell or the getaway driver. The escape occurred on July 28 just gone but the footage is only hitting the internet now.
According to police he is “armed, dangerous and extremely aggressive”.
