The incident happened at 4pm on Wednesday.
A high-speed car chase unfolded in Dublin yesterday and a motorist in the capital managed to capture some of the drama on his dash cam.
The chase took place in the Rathfarmham and Terenure area in the southside of the city at around 4pm in the afternoon.
The motorist pulled up to a junction and then the drama unfolded. The joyriders, who were driving in the opposite direction, clipped the Garda 4×4 before continuing with two more Garda cars in pursuit.
The car was eventually stopped and the Guards have detained the driver for further questioning about the incident. No injuries were reported.
