Contactless payment will be available in Electric Picnic for the first time this year

Very handy.

Electric Picnic will have contactless payments available for revellers this year for the first time in the festival’s history.

The option will be available at all of the festival’s bars, many of the food vendors and at some of the merchandise stalls.

The move is part of a partnership between AIB and Visa and will mean less time joining the sometimes never-ending queues for ATMs.

Commenting on the announcement, Melvin Benn, CEO of Festival Republic, organisers of EP said: “We are delighted to be working with AIB and Visa to drive contactless payments across Electric Picnic for the first time.

“We constantly strive to improve the experience and convenience of our festival goers, and we think this is the perfect partnership to encompass that ethos.”

It looks set to be a great weekend down at EP with stage times set to be announced soon, and you can also check out the Comedy Tent line-up here if you’re not going just for the music..

We’ve already had the blockbuster announcement that B*Witched will headline the nostalgia-fuelled Throwback Stage, so all in all, there’s plenty to look forward to down at Stradbally this year.
