It’s Thursday, baby.
You know what that means? It means it’s the day before Friday.
So if you’re not planning on watching Ireland’s match against Bulgaria tonight, or you’re looking for something to check out afterwards, why not watch a movie?
Here’s what we’re dealing with:
Legally Blonde – 9pm – Comedy Central
A genuinely excellent movie about a beautiful blonde who tries to make her way through Harvard Law School against all the odds. Reese Witherspoon is brilliant as ever.
The Damned United – 10pm – BBC Four
The story of Brian Clough’s infamous time in charge of Leeds United, starring the brilliant Michael Sheen. Well worth the watch if you have a passing interest in football.
Origins: The Story of Irish Hip Hop – 10.15pm – RTÉ One
Not necessarily a movie, but a fascinating documentary about the state of Irish hip-hop, a constantly growing subculture.
The Survivors Club – 11pm – Virgin Media Three
Three women who were all raped by the same man help the police catch the perpetrator. On the first day of his trial, he is assassinated by a sniper and the trio of victims soon find themselves targeted as suspects.
The Man Who Wanted to Fly – 11.20pm – RTÉ One
Cavan man Bobby Coote fixes clocks and spends a lot of time in his back shed making violins from old furniture. But he’s never lost sight of a lifelong dream to fly.
Payback – 11.45pm – ITV4
Mel Gibson is left for dead by his partner in crime and he wants PAYBACK. Obviously.
LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
