Benedict Cumberbatch thinks that Sherlock could end with Season 4

Paul Moore

Sure look, it has to end sometime.

You don’t need to enter your mind palace to know that Sherlock was going to finish sooner rather than later because it’s getting increasingly difficult to to accommodate the busy schedules of Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and the shows creators, Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat.

With Season 4 fast approaching, Doctor Strange himself has said that “It feels like the end” for Baker Street’s most famous duo.

Speaking with GQ , he said: ““It might be the end of an era. It feels like the end of an era, to be honest. [Season 4] goes to a place where it will be pretty hard to follow on immediately. We never say never on the show. I’d love to revisit it, I’d love to keep revisiting it, I stand by that. But in the immediate future we all have things that we want to crack on with and we’ve made something very complete as it is, so I think we’ll just wait and see. The idea of never playing him again is really galling.”

For those of that are curious about the immediate future, this list of episode titles should keep you ticking over.
