There are a lot of people out there who know certain Breaking Bad scenes off by heart, but the shows writers have revealed some interesting story lines that never made the cut…

We’ve all heard of the Breaking Bad ‘facts’ such as Jessie was never supposed to make it past season one and the entire show was originally supposed to be shot in California. Well the lads at Entertainment Weekly over in the States recently sat down with the show’s writers and pried some pretty interesting plot lines that never made it to screen.

Hank and Walt shoot guns with girls in bikinis

Apparently, in this scene Hank and Walk go to a desert shooting range that features bikini-clad instructors. Sounds like it could have been fun for EVERYONE involved, but sadly the writers felt they had to travel too far for what would ultimately be a small piece of footage. What a shame.

Badger (or Skinny Pete) gets horribly injured by a “shake and bake”

While Walt took his hiatus from cooking meth the junkies of New Mexico were becoming restless, so Badger (or Skinny Pete) decided to do a “shake and bake”. Here’s what story editor Gennifer Hutchison told EW: “You put all the ingredients into a two-litre soda bottle and then you put it on the back of your bike and ride around.

“The movement of the bike shakes it and causes the chemical reaction. But it’s really dangerous because it can explode. The idea was that would happen and they would be horribly injured.”

So why was the scene scrapped? Simply because the writers didn’t want to injure Badger or Skinny Pete… They’re just too cool to kill off (or are they? We’ll have to wait and see).

The blood-stained mystery box

In this scene, Walt was supposed to throw a bloody box into a lake as he sat in a rowboat. The scene was envisioned to be a ‘flash forward’ to season four. However, it was rejected because the writers just couldn’t figure out what exactly they could put into the box. Now that’s a scene that would have had Breaking Bad fan boys on edge…

There are a rake of other plot lines that never made it into the final script for one reason or another and you can check them out over on the Entertainment Weekly website.
