Time for the previous record-holder to let it go...
In 2019 alone, Disney has already had five movies cross the billion dollar mark: Aladdin, The Lion King, Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel, and Toy Story 4.
Technically, they've had five-and-a-half, since they also have a stake in Spider-Man: Far From Home, which also made it to the ten figures mark.
However, it looks like before the year is out, they'll have at least two more, with The Rise Of Skywalker dropping in December, and Frozen II this weekend, smashing a nearly 100-year-old Disney box office record.
Back in 2013, the first Frozen movie opened to $93 million in the States over the five-day Thanksgiving holiday, but the sequel has opened to $127 million over the three-day weekend, marking the biggest ever opening for a Walt Disney Animation Studios movie, since the company began in 1937.
While the amount doesn't match the current opening weekend record holder for an animated movie (Pixar's Incredibles 2 banked $183 million in its first three days last year), Frozen II did also set the record for biggest global opening for an animated film ever, making $350 million worldwide.
