After capturing hearts in His Dark Materials and sweeping chimneys in Mary Poppins Returns – ok, he also danced and sang his heart out in that one too- Lin-Manuel Miranda is returning to the property that he knows best.
Oh yes, after the creator of musical phenomenon Hamilton recently confirmed that a movie adaptation is on the way which will feature the original Broadway cast, an official release date has now been set.
The news keeps on getting better though because the movie will be filmed onstage at The Richard Rodgers Theatre too.

Here’s hoping that cinema tickets for Hamilton are easier to get than theatre ones.

In terms of its plot, Hamilton tells the story of the incredible life of Alexander Hamilton, a founding father of the United States.
The original cast’s album is certified six times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and has become the best-selling cast album of all time.
A movie adaptation of In The Heights, another movie created by Miranda, will be released in Ireland on 7 August of this year.
