The incredible Toni Collette will star in a brand new thriller on Netflix

She's easily one of the best actresses in the world. Her work in Unbelievable was fantastic and this new TV show sounds excellent too.

In Hollywood, like any other job, there's no such thing as a guaranteed certainty for quality. However, when it comes to the career of Toni Collette, she's the closest thing that you'll ever get to a guarantee of quality.

Simply put, if the Australian actress is in something, you know that it's worth watching.

Hell, the chances are that even if you don't like the film, it's impossible not to enjoy Collette's performance in it.

Muriel's Wedding, Little Miss Sunshine, The Way Way Back, The Sixth Sense, About A Boy, In Her Shoes, Hereditary, Knives Out.

She's fantastic in all of them, but for some viewers, Collette's recent work in Unbelievable is right up there with her very best performances. In fact, she even received a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the outstanding Netflix drama.

Well, fans of that show will be pleased to know that the Oscar-nominated actress is returning to star in a brand new thriller for the online streaming giant.

Deadline have reported that Collette will headline another Netflix series, Pieces of Her, which is based on the 2018 book by bestselling crime author Karin Slaughter.

Minkie Spiro (The Plot Against America) is set to direct the eight-episode series and in terms of a plot synopsis, Deadline have reported that the drama is "set in a sleepy Georgia town where a random act of violence sets off an unexpected chain of events for 30-year-old Andy Oliver and her mother Laura (Collette). Desperate for answers, Andy embarks on a dangerous journey across America, drawing her towards the dark, hidden heart of her family.

It adds: "Lovely, empathetic, modest – at first glance, Collette’s Laura Oliver seems to be the perfect Southern woman, devoted to her work as a speech pathologist and to her disaffected daughter, Andy. But when the ghosts of Laura’s past put her life in jeopardy, we discover there is more to Laura than meets the eye."

Truth be told, we've got zero doubts about this production because if Toni Collette is starring in it, we're watching it.
