Jim Carrey seems to be making a bit of a comeback.
He's already lined up to play the big screen version of one of video game's all-time greatest villains, and now we've got the first trailer for his new series Kidding, and it looks suitably bonkers and brilliant.
All ten episodes are directed by Michel Gondry (who Carrey worked with so fantastically on Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind), and will co-star Frank Langella (Frost/Nixon), Judy Greer (Arrested Development) and Catherine Keener (Get Out).
As per the official synopsis:
"Jim Carrey stars as Jeff, aka Mr. Pickles, an icon of children's television, a beacon of kindness and wisdom to America's impressionable young minds, who also anchors a multimillion-dollar branding empire.
"But when Jeff's family begins to implode, he finds no fairy tale or fable or puppet will guide him through the crisis, which advances faster than his means to cope. The result: a kind man in a cruel world faces a slow leak of sanity as hilarious as it is heartbreaking."
This will be Carrey's first time in a recurring TV role in over 20 years, so we expect this will be getting a lot of attention once it debuts.
It premieres on American broadcaster on Sunday 9 September (there has been no confirmed date for Ireland and UK), and you can check out the full trailer right here:
