The now legendary character is back for more ass-kicking.
Ever since the first John Wick, the former hitman played by Keanu Reeves has had a bad time of it.
The initial entry in the franchise focused on Wick returning to the crime life he left behind in order to seek revenge against the mafia men that killed his dog - a gift to him from his recently deceased wife.
Then, in John Wick: Chapter 2, he was forced to fulfill a blood oath to a crime lord, while John Wick: Chapter 3 saw him relentlessly pursued by a legion of assassins after a bounty was placed on his murder.
However, in the newly released trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4, Reeves' character is offered a chance to escape his current circumstances.
This comes from franchise addition Bill Skarsgård (Barbarian, It) playing Marquis, a new enigmatic and powerful figure in the series.
Speaking about Marquis, Wick's occasional ally Winston (Ian McShane) tells the former hitman: "Challenge him to single combat. Win or lose, it's a way out."
Meanwhile, Skarsgård's character is also shown in the trailer telling Wick: "If you win, the [High Table] will honour its word. You'll have your freedom."
However, another character ominously adds: "Under the old laws, only one can survive."
Could this be the end of John Wick? Irish audiences will get to find out on 24 March 2023.
You can check out the new trailer below, which also gives audiences glimpses of other new franchise additions including characters played by Donnie Yen and Hiroyuki Sanada.
