For the second week in a row, Ireland’s Got Talent had everyone in tears

Rory Cashin

We had just gotten over last week…

In case you’ve forgotten, last week brought us the first episode of the new season of Ireland’s Got Talent, and with it arrived 81-year-old singer Evelyn Williams from Tallaght, who absolutely emotionally destroyed the judges, everyone in the audience and everyone at home with her performance of ‘Send In The Clowns’.

We were prepared for another tear-duct assault this week, but despite our readiness, Ireland’s Got Talent still got the better of everyone.

38-year-old Linda McLoughlin, currently living in Ratoath, showed up with her partner and her two young kids, and took to the stage to sing the incredibly difficult ‘Listen’, made famous by Beyonce, who is essentially the only person on Earth who could properly sing that song.

However, once Linda took the stage and blew everyone away with her talent and passion, she was soon on the receiving end of a standing ovation, and once she was done, Louis strolled over to the Golden Buzzer and pushed it, meaning Linda jumps straight into the semi-finals, alongside last week’s Evelyn.

Louis was joined by his fellow judges –  stand-up comedian Jason Byrne, actress Denise Van Outen, and RuPaul’s BFF Michelle Visage – as well as the off-stage host Lucy Kennedy, in doling out the tearful superlatives for Linda.

Check out her incredible performance below:
