The documentary will air tonight.

A documentary that focuses on the consumption of anabolic steroids in Ireland will air on RTÉ tonight, and it looks like it’s going to be extremely emotional.

The documentary looks set to examine the relationship that Ireland has with steroids, and the effects that they may have on those who consume them.

The documentary apparently found steroids being sold for as little as €40 for a six-week course. RTÉ says that “a course like this can produce dramatic physical and psychological results – but with potentially catastrophic side effects.”

According to RTÉ, a recent survey found that one in five young people in Ireland would consider taking steroids, which are now cheaper and more accessible than ever before.

RTÉ Investigates will air at RTÉ One at 9.35pm on Wednesday night.
