The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Gardai are appealing for information after a male pedestrian has died after he was struck by a car on Rathbeale Road (R125) in Swords, Co Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
The man, believed to be in his thirties, was killed in the collision the occurred shortly after 1.30am.
Gardaí have described the vehicle as a dark coloured saloon car and it failed to remain at the scene.
The car drove off in the direction of Ashbourne.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
