Surely not, right?
Before we get into this at all, we are going to be talking in detail about Captain Marvel here, so if you haven’t seen it yet, this post might not be for you.
Although based on the stats, you probably have seen it…
Right so, here we go.
There’s a scene in Captain Marvel where she is trying to figure out whether Nick Fury is a Skrull (a shapeshifter), or whether he’s the real thing.
She tells him to say one thing that is so obscure that it would have to be true, to which he replies that if toast is cut diagonally, then he physically can’t eat it.
A funny scene and nothing more, right? Wrong.
Certain eagle-eyed fans have pointed out that in a previous movie in the MCU, Age of Ultron, we see Nick Fury cut his sandwiches into, you guessed it, diagonal pieces.

People online are now speculating that this means that Nick Fury has been a Skrull the whole time we’ve been watching him, or at least since Age of Ultron.
Which would change literally everything about the Marvel movies so far, as we speculated on in more detail here.
Either that, or it’s just a continuity error.
