It’s the beginning of another week and if you’re looking to put the feet up with a flick this Monday evening, then you’re in luck, as there’s a ton of great movies on TV tonight.
Our pick for this evening’s telly features is a gritty neo-Western called Wind River, which stars Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen as a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service tracker and an FBI agent, respectively, who try to solve a murder on the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming.
The 2017 flick has a solid 87% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with reviews praising the Western-like qualities to the film and the powerful issues it sets out to tackle.
Writer and director Taylor Sheridan, who also wrote Sicario and Hell Or High Water, said that he wrote the film in order to raise awareness of the issue of the real life stories of Indigenous women who fall victim of sexual assault and murder.
Sheridan received particular praise for his directorial debut, with Time Magazine saying: “There’s something to be said for a well-crafted motion picture, cinematically astute, that demands that we sit down and pay attention for a solid two hours or so, with no intermittent fridge runs.”

This 1963 entry into the James Bond franchise was Sean Connery’s second role as 007, and sees him attempt to retrieve a stolen Soviet encryption device.
The Peanut Butter Falcon – BBC Two – 11.15pm
2019 film starring Zack Gottsagen, Shia LaBeouf, Dakota Johnson about a young man with down syndrome who runs away from home to pursue his dream of becoming a wrestler.
Stardust – Film Four – 6.25pm
2007 romantic fantasy adventure film based on Neil Gaiman’s 1999 novel and featuring an incredible ensemble cast including Claire Danes, Charlie Cox, Sienna Miller, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Robert De Niro, with narration by Ian McKellen.
Infinite – Film Four – 9pm
Sci fi starring Mark Wahlberg about a man who discovers that his hallucinations are actually visions from past lives. It’s not very good, unfortunately.
