Mrs. Brown's Boys

Some would consider this a silver lining.

Very few comedies divide Irish opinion like Brendan O’Carroll’s Mrs. Brown’s Boys. It has been voted the best comedy of the 21st century before, but on the other hand… have you ever seen it?

Creator of the show Brendan O’Carroll has told the Irish Sun that he’s going “crazy” with worry about the future of the show as confusion over Brexit persists. If no deal can be struck be struck between the United Kingdom and the European Union, Irish people working in the UK could face different circumstances than before.

“We’re all in the same boat,” he said. “How can you prepare for something if we don’t know what’s going to happen. It’s driving everyone crazy. Even at this late stage, we don’t know how Brexit is going to affect us.”

Carroll has said that he is in favour of a second referendum, and said of Prime Minister Theresa May that “It’s very hard to have sympathy for Theresa because she took on the role herself, she wanted to be leader of the Conservative Party.”

According to YouGov, British fans of the show were actually far more likely to have voted to Leave.
