Another star is born.
The Late Late Toy Show swung for the fences once again this year.
We had Ryan Tubridy getting his Greatest Showman on, followed by a scene-stealing turn from a young man named Cormac who might just solve the housing crisis.
However, it seems that just about everyone was bowled over by 11-year-old Michael O’Brien from County Kerry.
One of three children present for the show’s annual tribute to literature was the sharp-suited Michael, who cut a seriously cool figure in the corner.
Ryan noted that Michael is a die-hard GAA fan, and that Davy Fitzgerald is his favourite manager.
“Because he’s very passionate about his sport,” Michael explained.
Asked if they would get on if they ever met, Michael said no, as they hail from different places.
Decent logic that Ryan was keen to put to the test with a classic Toy Show surprise…

And so it was that the pair came face to face.
“I have your book in the back, and I need you to sign it!” an excited Michael urged, but Fitzgerald had his own request.
“I need a small bit of help,” he said. “I need another passionate man with me.”
Fitzgerald explained that he has three important league games coming up, and asked his biggest fan to come along and give them a team talk.
“That’s a deal,” said Michael, who later walked away with All-Ireland Final tickets for his troubles.
“How can you get them? It’s not even 2019!”
In many ways, The Late Late Toy Show makes absolutely no sense, and that’s why it’s perfect.
But sometimes it makes total sense, and that’s why it’s perfect, too.
Fair play, Michael.
